Dandelion Clock Silhouette with an Ink Blended Background

Hi and thank you for visiting my blog today.

I know there are various names that this plant is called, but I think that Dandelion Clock is maybe the most common.  I am so pleased at how this card turned out, I really love it.  I used an image from the Shimmer Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper again, but wanted to add colour to it this time.  I gently sponged my Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad directly onto the image, (using scrap paper underneath of course!) letting the ink dry each time until I had the desired coverage – I did this three times in total to achieve the solid blackness. The shimmer from the paper is still there as I had hoped, the picture below shows this off better, and then I had my light bulb moment – an ink blended background.  Being a new demonstrator, my collection of Stampin’ Up! ink is a little limited at the moment, but I did have the basic necessary colours: Daffodil Delight, Rococo Rose, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue. There is a nice orangey colour which comes through rather than the Rococo Rose it should be, I assume this is because it is inked over some of the Daffodil Delight ink, and I also think the Mango Melody card base enhances this.  I felt a sentiment would be detrimental to the overall look of the card, so chose not to use one.  To finish, I mounted the inky background onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, then onto a Mango Melody card base.

Tag Topper Punch Gift or Treat Pouch

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog today.

This is my first attempt at a video! (hopefully arriving soon, my upload is dreadfully slow) It’s not too bad, could have been much worse and I’m very lucky to have had a very good camera man (thank you dear Husband!).  I wandered a little out of shot a few times, but I’m certain this will improve with practice.

Designer Series Paper cut to 8½” x 7”

Score on the long side at 2”,  4”,  6”,  8”

On the short side score at 2”

Complete as shown on the video.

You could make this pouch shorter or taller by changing the 7” measurement, remembering to allow 2” for the base.

Best Dressed Designer Series Paper with Melon Mambo

Hello, welcome to my blog and thank you for visiting today.

This is my favourite card so far, the Designer Series Paper is colourful but fresh looking with a lovely floral print and is set off wonderfully with the Melon Mambo cardstock, a really perfect combination.

To begin, I made my card base from an A4 piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut to measure 5¾” x 11½”.  On the long side I scored it in half at 5¾”.  The Melon Mambo  cardstock was cut to 5½” x 5½” and adhered to the card.  Next, the Designer Series Paper was cut to measure 5¼” x 5¼”. One of the scrap pieces was then punched using the Braided Border Punch – it obviously didn’t leave a full width punched piece, but that’s fine.   The top right hand corner and bottom left hand corner of the DSP was measured 2” in and marked.  I drew a line to join up the marks then using the trimmer cut off this corner piece.  I used a small sliver of tape and attached together the punched border and the DSP then cut off the excess overhang at each side.  This piece along with the trim was adhered on top of the Melon Mambo cardstock. Stamping next, using Memento Tuxedo Black the sentiment was stamped from the Vibrant Vases stamp set on Melon Mambo. I also stamped a floral image from the Budding Borders stamp set directly onto the corner of the card. Finally, some die cutting using the Stitched Shape Dies.  The sentiment was cut using the smallest oval, whilst the backing for the centre image was cut using Melon Mambo cardstock and the largest oval, then from an identical piece of Best Dressed DSP, I used the second largest oval to cut out the flower image.  These were adhered together as shown on the card and attached to finish.

Doily Aperture card with Woven Threads Designer Series Paper

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog today.

A slightly different card today using a coloured doily. I like the contrasting colours of Flirty Flamingo on the doily and the Pretty Peacock of the Woven Threads DSP.

A sheet of Thick Whisper White A4 cardstock was cut to 513/16” on the long side, then one of the pieces was scored at 41/8” and folded to make the card base.  A piece of Woven Threads DSP was cut to 3¾” x 5½” and attached to the card base.  Then a piece of Whisper White cardstock was cut to 3¼” x 5”.  I used the second largest circle in the Stitched Shape Dies to cut into the card using the Big Shot, before putting it into the Swirls and Curls embossing folder and running it through the Big Shot again. The doily in Flirty Flamingo was attached to the back of the embossed cardstock before being attached to the card. On top of the doily I added a Terracotta Tile gem from a pack of Flower Faceted Gems.   The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, stamped in Pretty Peacock ink and cut out using the smallest oval from the Stitched Shape Dies. A backing for this was cut from Flirty Flamingo cardstock using the next size up oval from the same die set, adhered behind the sentiment and attached to the card.

Birthday Bonanza Version Number 2

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog today.

An alternative card to my previous use of Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper today.  A banner is used on this card and I will admit that I don’t yet have the banner punch but it is on my wish list for my next Stampin’ Up! order.

The card base was made from an A4 sheet of Basic Black cardstock cut to 5¾” x 11½”, then scored at 5¾” on the long side.  A piece of Birthday Bonanza DSP was cut to 5¼” x 5¼” and adhered to the card.   I cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock to 4¼” x 2½” and cut the edge into a banner shape. A piece of Whisper White cardstock was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink with a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set then cut to 35/8” x 2”.  This was layered on top of the black banner.  I then cut a frame from Basic Black cardstock using the Stitched Shape Dies using the larger two ovals, then cut a different piece of Birthday Bonanza DSP using the large stitched oval and attached it to the rear of the black frame. I added a top and bottom border to the banner using the same DSP which measures ½” wide and cut to fit the banner edge.  This was adhered to the card.  To finish off, the oval frame was attached to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Quick Card using Shimmer Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog today.

I haven’t had a great deal of creativity time for the last few days, however I did want to post something today so I put together this card.  It is very simplistic but can easily be ‘dressed up’ with a sentiment and a little colouring. This is the first time I have used this Specialty Paper and will definitely make some future projects with it.

The card base was made from a sheet of Thick Whisper White A4 cardstock which was cut to 5 13/16” on the long side, then one of the pieces scored at 4 1/8” and folded in half.  The image from the Specialty Paper was cut from the 12×12 sheet (which contains other images), and carefully adhered to a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock which was then cut to 3¼” x 47/8”.  The larger Purple Posy mat was cut to 53/8”x 3¾”.  The mats were adhered together and attached to the card base.

Just for You Card in Pretty Peacock

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog today.

Pretty Peacock is a really lovely colour and coupled with silver heat embossing, makes a really smart looking card.

The card base was made from a sheet of Thick Whisper White A4 cardstock was cut to 5 13/16” on the long side, then one of the pieces was scored at 4 1/8” and folded to make the card base.  A piece of Pretty Peacock Designer Series Paper cut to 35/8” x 53/8” was attached to the card.  A piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 2¼” x 5¾“ was cut, dry embossed using the Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder, then attached centrally on top of the DSP. Next I used the Braided Border Punch with Pretty Peacock cardstock, cut to 5¾” and adhered to the centre over the embossing.  Heat embossing next; on Pretty Peacock cardstock I stamped a flower, stem and leaves from the Floral Essence stamp set in Versamark, covered with Stampin’ Silver Emboss Powder and heat set.  This was cut into an oval shape using the largest from the Stitched Shape Dies and adhered to the centre of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Finally, the sentiment from the Vibrant Vases stamp set was stamped in Versamark onto Whisper White cardstock, covered with the same embossing powder and heat set.  I cut this to 1¾” x ¾“ and attached to the card as shown.

White and Silver Card with Ribbon Trim

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog today.

A mainly white card today with some silver and a little lilac.  A few different elements are used for this card – stamping, heat embossing, dry embossing, die cutting and a punch was also used.  I don’t normally use ribbon, but it finished the card of well in this instance.

For the card base a sheet of Thick Whisper White A4 cardstock was cut in half on the short side, then a long piece was scored in half to make a tent fold card for a change.  Next was some heat embossing, the Birthday Jubilee Bundle was used to stamp the sentiment and large floral swag twice in Versamark on Whisper White cardstock before being covered in Stampin’ Silver Embossing Powder and heat set. The floral swags were cut out using the die from the same set, whilst the sentiment was punched out using a 2” circle punch.  More die cutting was done using Whisper White cardstock for the large rectangular die with the arch detail, which was cut twice, then the strip die was cut out using a scrap piece of Whisper White measuring 3¼” long x ¾” wide. This was cut in half and attached to the rectangle arch dies along with the heat embossed floral swags, as shown in the photo.  The sentiment was positioned in the circle gap created by the two arches, attaching to the strip die overhanging into the gap.  A piece of Purple Posy cardstock was cut measuring 3 7/8” x 3 5/8” and adhered to the rear of this die cut section. A piece of Whisper White cardstock was cut to 3 11/16” x 5½” and put into the Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder, then run through a Big Shot.  The ribbon I used on the top and bottom was cut to size, then a smaller piece was cut and tied around in a single knot.  These were then attached to the back of the dry embossing using a little tape, then attached to the card base.

Thank you for viewing my project today.  If you wish to place an order, make a note of the item numbers and use the ‘Shop Now’ tab above, available 24/7, not forgetting to use the current Hostess Code  which is  UKHRQBWK if your order is under £150.  Every customer will receive a thank you gift from me, sent separately from your Stampin’ Up order but please  don’t  select the No Contact option at the check out, as I won’t be able to send you your gift the following month.  Besides this you may also receive a few emails from me about your order.  If your order is over £150 you get to choose your own rewards.

Two for One using Peaceful Poppies

As the title suggests, I made two cards using the same elements.  For a change I used the Designer Series Paper diagonally and I think it works really well.

The card base was made by using a sheet of Thick Whisper White A4 cardstock, cut to 5 13/16” on the long side, then one of the pieces was scored at 4 1/8” and folded to make the card base.  The larger Granny Apple Green mats were cut to 5¾” x 35/8” and attached to the card base.  Two Peaceful Poppies mats were cut to 2¾” x 4½”. These were then both cut in half diagonally and adhered to the Granny Apple Green mats.  The sentiments are both from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Garden Green ink then die cut using the second smallest circle in the Stitched Shape Dies set.  The additional poppies were from the Peaceful Poppies Elements and adhered to the sentiment before being attached to the card.

You can see from the two cards that both of the images I used from the Peaceful Poppies Elements are reversed, so you get the option of choosing an image facing whichever way your card dictates, so for the images I used there were 8 of each in the pack, 4 facing one way, 4 facing the other.

Budding Borders with Rococo Rose

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog today.

For today’s card I have used a few stamps from the Budding Borders stamp set, sandwiched in between Rococo Rose Designer Series Paper, which have come together well and made a really nice feminine card.

A sheet of Thick Whisper White A4 cardstock was cut to 5 13/16” on the long side, then one of the pieces was scored at 4 1/8” and folded to make the card base.  Using a sheet of DSP from the 2019-2021 In Colours, two pieces were cut from this (the patterns required were back-to-back on one sheet) each measuring 1 7/8” x 5½” wide.  These were attached to the card base.  Using the Budding Borders stamp set, the rose border was stamped in Real Red ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, then the leaf border was stamped in between in Pretty Peacock ink.  I coloured the roses in using Rococo Rose from my Stampin’ Write Markers, then the leaves were coloured in using Pretty Peacock from the same set.  I cut this to 15/16” x 5½” and adhered centrally to cover the join in the DSP.  The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, stamped with Versamark, followed by Rococo Rose ink then covered in Stampin’ Clear Emboss Powder and heat set.  This was cut using the smallest oval in the Stitched Shape Dies, then attached to complete the card.
