Welcome to my blog and thank you so much for your visit. Take time to look around and see if any of my projects inspire you!
I am an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in the UK, so if you live in Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands or United Kingdom, you are eligible to purchase from me, but regardless of where you are from, I do appreciate your visit to my blog.
Some of the products I have used are available as Last Chance Products – While Supplies last or until 2ndJune 2020. See below for the specific products included.
Following on from yesterday, I made three mini circular easel cards to attach the outer edge of the gold heat embossed doilies to. These have been around for a long time and prior to joining Stampin’ Up! I made some shaped ones a few Christmases ago, but I have not made a circular one before. Obviously, you could use any die you wanted, but the measurements I have given will only be applicable to the largest circle die in the Stitched Shape Dies. First I decided on which designer series paper to use, then chose a complimentary colour for the cardstock – for the photographic example, my choices were 2019-21 In Colour DSP in Rococo Rose with matching Rococo Rose cardstock (the other two examples in the photograph were Tropical Oasis DSP with Real Red cardstock and Best Dressed DSP with Old Olive cardstock). The largest circle die in the Stitched Shape Dies I used measures a tad under 3” in diameter so I cut the cardstock to 3¼” x 6”, scored in half on the long side at 3”, then folded and burnished the scoreline. Next, I placed the circular die falling a little off the edge of the cardstock over the fold. You need it to be off the edge so the circles are joined together.
I ran it through my Big Shot.
On the front circle only (see the stitching to ascertain the correct ‘front’), score it in half (I put the connected circles flat onto my Simply Scored and scored at 13/8”), then with the scoreline facing me, I made a mountain fold, then burnished the scoreline.
Using the largest stitched circle again, die cut your chosen DSP and adhere the outer section of the doily onto it. Attach this to the lower part of the scored and folded circle (below the mountain fold) on your cardstock. As the DSP is of a good quality thickness, I decided that it needed no rear reinforcement and maybe it was helped by the doily being added.
Next, decide on a ‘stopper’ for the base circle – this will need to hold up the front of your card. I chose the smallest Stitched Shape Circle Die and cut it using matching DSP. I did reinforce this by adding an identical sized circle on the rear. The reason I reinforced this piece was because I wanted it to sit firm and straight as it would be raised up because dimensionals needed to be added to the rear. After adding the dimensionals I placed the stopper on the base circle at the front in the centre.
At this point I added a butterfly from the Butterfly Beauty Dies to the front, cut from Gorgeous Grape and Purple Posy cardstock. I chose not to add a sentiment to this card, but the other examples do have them and I found that the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set is perfect for this as the sentiments are all quite small. My choice for the front of the other examples were fussy cut images from the same DSP as their backgrounds.
