Gift Card Holders using Designer Series Paper and Tag Topper Punch

Welcome to my blog and thank you so much for your visit. Take time to look around and see if any of my projects inspire you!

I am an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in the UK, so if you live in Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands or United Kingdom, you are eligible to purchase from me, but regardless of where you are from, I do appreciate your visit to my blog.

Some of the products I have used are available as Last Chance Products – While Supplies last or until 2ndJune 2020.

See below for the specific products included.

A quick, easy project for using up larger DSP offcuts for a useful purpose today – gift card holders.  I also get to utilize one of my favourite crafting items too, the Tag Topper Punch.

The sizing of these can be varied, my samples measure:

Large: 3 ½” x 10 ¾” – score at 3½” and 71/8” – completed measurement 35/8” x 3½”

Medium:  3” x 10¾” – score at 3½” and 71/8” – completed measurement  35/8” x 3”

Small: 2½” x 10” – score at 3 ½ and 7” – completed measurement 33/8” x 2 ½”

Trim your designer series paper depending on which size you require and score on the long side as appropriate.  Fold and burnish the scorelines, then punch both outer edges using the Tag Topper Punch.  The gap in the punch is made to take 2” wide pieces of cardstock or paper, but you can ease the paper into the punch over the top of the grooves to take a wider piece, just ensure the paper is central in the punch.  After punching, you will need to snip off the left-over side pieces. Next, decide which of the sides will become the interior, this needs to be the slightly shorter end of the paper and will require adhesive.  When you have established which side requires the adhesive, run 2 narrow strips of glue on the inside edges, press down and allow to dry.  To keep the gift card holder closed I added a Stampin’ Dimensional to each.

Ease the paper gently over the grooves into the punch
before punching, ensure the paper is central within the punch
cut off all the leftovers as shown after each punch
cutting now complete and ready to glue
red lines indicate where glue should be applied

Stampin’ dimensionals applied

These would be so quick to make in bulk in advance if you send lots of gift cards and the storage required is minimal.  Just be mindful that these are aimed at gift cards measuring 21/8” x 33/8”.

Thank you for viewing my project today.  If you make a purchase with me this month for £30 or more (excluding postage) in addition to a thank you card and gift, you will also receive a card kit, which will comprise of three cards to assemble yourself, all papers will be pre-cut for you with the card base, envelopes and any die cuts provided, the only item not provided will be adhesive, as I find the preference of this differs greatly between crafters.

If you wish to place an order, make a note of the item numbers and use the ‘Shop Now’ tab above, available 24/7, not forgetting to use the current  Hostess Code  which is PKH4JDUB  if your order is under £150.  Every customer will receive a thank you gift from me, sent separately from your Stampin’ Up order but please  don’t  select the No Contact option at the check out, as I won’t be able to send you your gift the following month.  Besides this you may also receive a few emails from me about your order.  If your order is over £150 you get to choose your own rewards.

See you next time,

Today I have used Woven Threads designer series paper and coupled it with the Floral Essence stamp set.  The leafy panel and flower was made by me upon receiving my starter kit back in February, which I liked, but didn’t quite know what to pair it with at the time.  I looked at it again a few days ago and had a light bulb moment – Woven Threads!    The Floral Essence leaves were stamped randomly in Rococo Rose and Highland Heather ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  The flower was stamped in Rococo Rose ink, the second stamping of this being rotated and over the top of the first stamped image.  I fussy cut this as I don’t have the punch.  I attached this to the centre of the panel and pulled up the petals to give the flower a little dimension.  The sentiment is from the Vibrant Vases photopolymer stamp set, which should read ‘Thanks for understanding’, but as I just wanted the word ‘Thanks’ I covered up the latter part with a little tape, inked the stamp, then removed the tape before stamping.  The mats behind the main panel and sentiment are cut from Purple Posy cardstock.  I haven’t given measurements as this would be fine in any size required.

Pretty Parisian Blossoms Card

Welcome to my blog and thank you so much for your visit. Take time to look around and see if any of my projects inspire you!

See below for the specific products included.

The card I have made for today uses the Parisian Blossoms designer series paper, with some more fussy cutting of flowers.  The background paper has such a delicate and pretty feel to it – I think it is just lovely.  The card base was made from a sheet of A4 Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut in half, then one of the pieces was scored in half.  I cut the background to measure 5½” x 3¾” then using the Braided Border Punch, produced a strip measuring just over 5½” long, which was was adhered centrally onto the background.  The flowers were then fussy cut, and after I had decided on the arrangement of them added a dob of glue to the rear of them in the centre only, as I wanted a slightly dimensional look.  I trimmed the two edges as I didn’t want too much flower overhang at the sides, but chose to leave the flower at the top, I didn’t think the card would look right if I trimmed that one.  I then attached the panel to the card base.  The sentiment was from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, which I stamped in Versamark onto Whisper White cardstock, then covered in silver embossing power and heat set.  I used the smallest oval from the Stitched Shape Dies to cut it out, placed Stampin’ Dimensionals on the rear then adhered it in the centre of the card.

Parisian Blossoms and Shimmer Paper (again!)

See below for the specific products included.

If you didn’t already know, I think that the Shimmer Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper is wonderful, it is so versatile as well as being lovely and shimmery but not too over the top.  I will miss it, and it is a bargain currently costing £5.20 for six 12×12 sheets comprising of three sheets with a floral design which you can snip out and three sheets which have nine smaller images and two borders, which are great for using on small to medium sized cards.  On today’s card, I have used the frame from this paper and paired it with the Parisian Blossoms DSP, along with a couple of fussy cut flowers, also from Parisian Blossoms.  All of these will be hugely missed by me, so feel I that I must use them to their full potential!

The card base was a notecard in Whisper White.  I used Parisian Blossoms designer series paper for the background which was cut to 33/8“ x 47/8“, over the top of this I adhered the frame from the Shimmer Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper which was cut to 3½” x 5”.

I then fussy cut two flowers from a different sheet from Parisian Blossoms and placed Stampin’ Dimensionals on the rear of them before attaching to the card.  The sentiment was from the Vibrant Vases photopolymer stamp set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, which I stamped directly onto the shimmer paper.

A simple card today using Melon Mambo which is a wonderful warm colour and I have paired it with a little fussy cutting.  The card base is a Notecard with a piece of Melon Mambo measuring 47/8” x 33/8”.  The decorative border was made from two pieces of Shimmer Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper and is made from two pieces placed back to back, which I adhered just below the centre of the card.  The flowery image is fussy cut from a piece of Best Dressed designer series paper.  This was attached to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The sentiment is from the Floral Essence photopolymer stamp set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.

See below for the specific products included.

A card in one of my favourite colours today, Pretty Peacock, as well as the lovely Shimmer Paper.  I started with a card base made from a sheet of A4 Whisper White Thick cardstock, cut in half, then one of the pieces scored in half.  I added a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock trimmed to measure 5½” x 3¾”, then cut a piece of Tropical Oasis DSP measuring 5½” x 21/8”.  Along the top of the DSP I added a thin line of adhesive and attached a leafy border from the Shimmer Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper.  I added another thin line of adhesive to the bottom of the DSP and attached the leafy border to face in the opposite direction this time.  I cut off the overhang on the border and adhered this to the card base.  The sentiment is from the Birthday Jubilee stamp set, which I stamped in Versamark onto Whisper White cardstock, covered in silver embossing powder and heat set. I punched this out using my 2” circle punch.  To the rear of this I die cut the second to largest circle from the Stitched Shape Dies and adhered it the rear of the sentiment, before attaching it to the card.

Scraps on Saturday! Using your Stampin’ Up! Scraps

We all end up with scraps right? Whether that be offcuts, unused and leftover from projects where you may have stamped an image multiple times, die cut too many, or simply changed your mind mid-project but already have the pieces ready for your initial crafting idea. Many people, myself included, have a sense of not wanting to waste anything which may be useful for future crafting ideas and let’s face it, you want your full money’s worth too. To store my unused treasures I use three small (but overgrowing) tubs which are labelled paper offcuts, die cuts & stamped images and sentiments. I decided that it was time to use some up and this is what I came up with.

I made a bunch of notecards, just by playing with all the scraps, seeing what matched up with what and using any larger spare pieces of designer series paper and cardstock for the backgrounds which had not hit the tubs yet, but probably would have in the very near future.
Some of the stamped images will have been used before in my projects as I have a tendency to stamp an image more than once, just because I like the stamp or because I’m not sure which colours will work best or because I had two separate projects in mind at the time.

If you still have lots of scraps after trying this, you can always use your punches or die cut small flowers, banners, circles or ovals which are always of some use and the storage required for these small items is minimal.

I hope you can find some inspiration amongst my scrap makes and it is a subject I intend to return to from time to time.

Thank you for viewing my project today.

See you next time,
Angela.

Something for Myself – Shimmer Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper

The Shimmer Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paperis available as a Last Chance Product – While Supplies last or until 2ndJune 2020.

../04.22.20_SHAREABLE_LAST-CHANCE_SPUK.jpg

A very quick project today.  I had a piece of the Shimmer Paper spare, just crying out to be attached to black cardstock and would have been really annoyed with myself if it had got torn or damaged.  Very gently, I applied adhesive to the rear with a small paint brush and attached it to a piece of Basic Black cardstock.  When it was dry, I cut this down to measure 5½” x 3¾”, then made a card base, again in Basic Black, using a sheet of A4 cardstock, cut it in half and scored one of the pieces in half.  The cardstock with the shimmery image was attached to the front.  I will keep this for myself on display and admire the shimmery beauty of it.  So sad that it’s retiring.

Thank you for viewing my project today.

Country Club Golfing Card

Welcome to my blog and thank you so much for your visit. Take time to look around and see if any of my projects inspire you!

See below for the specific products included.

I’m looking ahead to Father’s Day with this card whilst the Country Club Designer Series Paper is still in stock.  I know, it’s not until next month, but this DSP will be gone by then!  I’m not overlooking any lady golfers of course, as the sentiment could easily be changed to read Happy Birthday or any other deemed appropriate for the occasion.

The card base was made from a sheet of A4 Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut in half and one of the pieces scored in half.  The background was cut to 3¾” x 5½” and adhered to the card base.  The corners were next, from the Peaceful Poppies Elements, a black circle was cut into four pieces and adhered to each corner.  Then two squares were cut in Basic Black cardstock using the Stitched Shape Dies with the second to largest sized die, then the golf balls and tees paper was cut using the next smaller sized square.  I adhered each square together at this point and sliced a tiny bit off one corner from each where they met and attached these to the card in a diamond shaped orientation.  The sentiment was next from the Itty Bitty Greetings, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  This was cut out using the smallest oval from the Stitched Shape Dies.  Using the next sized oval, I cut a mat for the rear using Basic Black cardstock and adhered them together.  The black banner used is from the Peaceful Poppies Elements across the centre of the card, with the sentiment and mat attached to the front of it.

Shimmer Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper on Basic Black

Welcome to my blog and thank you so much for your visit. Take time to look around and see if any of my projects inspire you!

Black goes so well with almost any colour doesn’t it? Today’s card is no exception, especially so by using the shimmer paper and this particular sentiment, I will miss so much when the stamp set is retired soon.  The card base was made from a sheet of A4 Basic Black cardstock, cut to 7½” x 5¼”, then scored on the long side at 3¾”.  Both the background image and the bird were cut from the shimmer paper.  The background image was adhered directly onto the card base whilst the bird image was adhered to Basic Black cardstock and cut using the largest sized circle from the Stitched Shape Dies in my Big Shot.  A scrap piece of Basic Black cardstock was used for the sentiment measuring approximately 11/8“ x 2¾”.  The stamp is from the Vibrant Vases stamp set, stamped in Versamark on Basic Black cardstock, covered in silver embossing powder and heat set.  The sentiment was then attached to the card before the circle as I wanted it to be overlapped slightly.
