Christmas Crafting

Hello there!

Well, where on earth does the time go?  Clearly I need to make a belated New Year’s resolution to spend more time on my blog!  I do hope you had a good Christmas and New Year, despite all the restrictions of tiers and lockdowns.  Ours was quiet and relaxed – just what my husband needed during his much needed time off work.

So, a few years ago I bought a wooden set of drawers from The Works with the idea of making a reusable advent calendar. Finally, I took the time do this. I love it!

The backing papers on the drawers I used are from various paper pads I already had in my stash and a few were wrapping paper stuck onto card, whilst the stickers and embellishments on the front of each drawer were from various places including Flying Tiger, The Works, Hobbycraft, Lidl and a few were made from punches that are in my collection.  The numbers were die cut in black cardstock and the backing for the numbers were punched from a piece of gold cardstock using a small circle punch.  Eventually, I may decorate the sides and top, but will leave it as is for now.

I filled each drawer with Cadbury Heroes chocolates for the boys as a small treat.

See you next time,
